I’m experiencing an issue with my template after upgrading from Archicad 26 to Archicad 29.

I have a template originally created in Archicad 26, which I recently upgraded to Archicad 29. However, several of my Favourites especially doors, walls, and other objects are now displaying generic “Solid” materials, as shown in the attached image, instead of the original custom materials.

Here’s what I’ve already tried:

  • Exported Favourites from Archicad 26
  • Converted them using the Favourite Converter for Archicad 29
  • Imported the converted Favourites into Archicad 29

Unfortunately, the material properties are still not preserved.

My goal:
I want the original custom material settings to remain intact without distortion, while still using the Archicad 29 libraries in the upgraded template (not the Archicad 26 libraries).

Question:
What is the correct workflow to ensure that material attributes, surface settings, and element parameters from AC26 carry over properly into AC29, while still benefiting from the AC29 libraries?

Any guidance from those who have successfully migrated templates across versions would be greatly appreciated.

Based on your screenshot It seems you are missing the migration library, as indicated in the Status column by the red (Missing)

I believe if you click on the missing item in your library manager that says "Archicad Migration Libraries" you should get further instructions.

If not, simply download and install the correct language version you need from this site: (make sure you download the same language version that your Archicad 26 project was, or you will still get missing library parts.
https://www.graphisoft.com/resources-and-support/downloads?section=monolith-template-and-library

After you install the library, come back to the library manager, and click on the migrate libraries button. (If you look at the 'Add...' button, its the fourth button from left to right. just hover over the buttons so you see the names of the actions)

I think @max_min misunderstood the question.

With the new 28 library system most of us bit the bullet and rebuilt from scratch. Besides the surfaces there are other items like custom panels that need to be recreated and we are still finding items that are missing with the new system.
