Hi there, I am trying to copy a window element from one plan into another plan using AC24 with Mac. (I have two projects open with AC24). When I perform the copy and try to paste into the other plan the copy clipboard is empty ?
I remember doing this very move with my windows machine using AC24 a few months ago but why it’s not working now with Mac has go me stumped.
Anybody know what steps I am missing ?

You can’t copy windows or doors from one file to another independently of the wall. You need to copy and paste the wall that contains the window or door.

I will have to remember that from now on and to copy wall segments with either doors or windows in them.
Thank you for your help.

Copy the wall that the window sits in or just pick up the properties

The good old teat pipette and inject the parameters treatment. It’s nice to know that it will also work across opened plan instances as well.

No it doesn't - only works within the current plan.
Only Copy & Paste will do what has been discussed.
Barry.

Ok got it, so that will not work across opened plan files.

Another way is to pick up the parameters from a trace reference

But not possible from separate files which is what the original poster wanted.

I didn’t know that we could pick up parameters from a trace reference even if it is in the same plan file. You learn something new every day with this software.
