Curve resolution in curved walls

Anonymous
Not applicable
Hello
I am trying to figure out what determines
the curve resolution of curved walls and
where the resolution starts.

Recently, I made a window object that
places interior and exterior casings
made with the BPRISM_ command.
The resolution of the curved casings
are set using the global wall_resol.
As far as I can tell the curve resolution
of this object is indeed the same as the
wall it is inserted in but the facets are
not aligned with the facets of the wall.
This causes the back edges of the casings
to be partially buried in the wall surface.

I made a very simple window object to find
out the resolution of any curved wall.
It has one line in the 2D script.
print wall_resol
This "window" reports widely differing resolutions
when inserted in different curved walls.
I looked at several of these walls and it appeared
that the facet pattern did not start at the
center of arc nor at one end or the other
but at some arbitrary point along the arc.

Does anyone have any information on what determines
the curve resolution of curved walls and where the
facet pattern starts ?

Thank you,
Peter Devlin
