is it possible to gather general material definitions to a macro object and call them to object files by using PUT and GET commands?
I've tried this method but have gotten many different error messages such as "incompatible table parameter dimension" and "error in parameter buffer command".
Does anyone know what these messages mean? It would also be great to hear what is in your opinion is the best way to deal with repeating material definitions.
Thanks in advance for any advice concerning this matter!

David Maudlin,
thank you for pointing the other GDL forum out to me. I already got some excellent advice about material definitions from there.
