Duplicate parts error

Anonymous
Not applicable
I recently purchased a GDL block from objectsonline.com. Much to my frustration, every time I try to load the block, I get the Duplicate parts error. Apparently, the four blocks I purchased all have the ID number of 36 zeroes - 36 zeroes. Is there any way to change the ID number? Is there a a simpler way to deal with this problem? I should also mention that the four files are all different with different file names. It's just the ID number that is the same.

If the ID number is really your problem backup te originals and open the objects and save them as new ones into your library. Internal IDs are used since 8.x I think. Maybe the objects are older.
But have a look at your library managing too. Most of such problems are found here.

I tried to just open up the part and I got the message : Unknown document version. Cannot read library part. It is a .gsm file. I have version 8.1. Does it not open earlier versions? On www.objectsonline it said it was compatible through version 9.0

Seems to be the file is corrupted. How have got it on your machine? Sometimes uncompressed mailing kills the objects.
