I have color samples from a metal roof vendor that I want to incorporate into our standard library. The samples are a single solid color, therefore they have no seams. Is it better to have a small image size -- say 20x20 -- to keep the library size down; or is it better to have a large image size -- maybe 500x500 -- so it repeats less in the 3D window? Does the size of the sample affect ArchiCAD's speed at all?

If the material is for LightWorks, I'd use Color Class Shader "Plain" to match the color of the sample and add a little Displacement Class Shader "Rough" .01, .01, 1, 1.

For texture maps in general, the smaller the better.
This is addressed in the "LightWorks in ArchiCAD" book on page 110-111.

Larger samples take more time to render and consume more RAM, but even 500x500 is not large.
