(Not so) New GDL features in AC 8 (and 9)

After a long time, it looks like I'll finally upgrade my AC - from 7 directly to 9.
I've been away from the GDL world for a while, and would like to get updated about the GDL programming possibilities introduced with the already old ArchiCAD 8 (I've heard some exciting things about editable hotspots).
My searches on this forum were not too productive. Would someone point me a link where I could find those new commands and features for this version?
AC 9 news on the matter, of course, would be also appreciated, but I need to do that previous step first.

I'm liking the HOTLINE2 command. DNC had requested this back in the day when I first started in GDL and we got it finally. It doesnt work quite the way I'd like it to but it's better than nothing.
