Opaque does not work in label

Im trying to get the marker label to fill in, nothing works. Is there some setting somewhere im missing.

What label are you using or are you making your own? I have plenty of labels that have opaque fills...so it certainly can work.

here is a pic. It doesn't matter what label i use opaque does nothing.

Taking a quick look at the GDL for that label, it does not appear to have a fill in the coding which is why it is not working for you. Try James Murray's shape label found in the GDL depository, here:

Whoops, I spoke too soon. That label does not have a fill either. Attached is the Shape Label with a fill option added (at least to most of the shapes).

same thing. the weird thing is the opaque work on the section and detail markers, just not the label marker.

The Opaque button works only for text label. This function is hard coded into AC.
For scripted labels, there is not any GDL Global variable assigned to this feature. We have to use traditional fills.

In the Label modified by Erich, these settings are in Symbol Label > Mask.
