I thought all you needed to do was to place the objects in your project and when the project was saved, all GDL objects used would automatically be filed as an Embedded Library. Isn't this a duplicate effort?

An explanation of what you are trying to accomplish would help. In the Help file, see Configuration > Libraries > Embedded Library > Add Objects to Embedded Library.
Anyway, I tried following the instructions and opened an existing project, then went to library manager and found nothing under Embedded Libraries. Then I clicked on Add but I didn't know where to browse, as it didn't seem logical that I should open the standard AC libraries and pick out the objects I already used in the project.
One other thing. I downloaded the AC14 library update (that is the version I use) but don't know how to remove it from the containing folder and install it. Right now, it's just sitting on my desktop. When I open Library Manager and browse the desktop, it doesn't even recognize it.
What am I doing wrong?
