If you haven't checked already, GS have released an updated library - for the US version anyway. It's dated July 4

I tried all the same things as Ben this morning, all with the same invalid responces.

However, since installing the 1033 build, the 'check for updates' has responded as expected. even after putting the accessories lib, back into the the archicad 11 library folder....

Interesting. I have the same incorrect results with Build 1033 on XP - reading the wrong date information for the LCF file as shown in the screenshot earlier in this thread.

it all worked fine for me after the upgrade - 1033 on OSX - karl. i also found that i could put my "Accessories.lcf" file into a folder called "Accessories Library" in the "ArchiCAD 11 Library" and the library update ran correctly as well.

all is well again. although it still feels like a bloody trial running through an upgrade: IFC this, network that, check all add-ons, don't trust update of add-ons so donwload them again, etc . . .

Works fine on my Mac (PPC) as well with 1033 - says everything is up-to-date.

On XP, it reads the wrong date from the LCF file attributes as described with screenshot earlier in this thread.

So, keeping a straight face - easy when you are just typing - here are some suggestions to Library update:

- On Mac, install the ArchiCAD Hotfix first, because it includes a critical fix for the Library update. If you are on Mac and on 1033, Library update will work fine.

- On PC, if you installed ArchiCAD later than 4 July (so after your Holiday ) then the automatic update will not tell you to update the library. This is because the PC modifies the file creation dates when you install ArchiCAD (so, rather strangely, and unlike Mac, the creation date will be more current then the date modified). Please visit http://tr.graphisoftus.com/ to get the update

- Make sure to have only one single .lcf file (the ArchiCAD Library 11.lcf) in your "ArchiCAD Library 11" folder. If you wish to add more lcf's, like the Accessory Library and the Library Subset, make sure to place it in a subfolder of the "ArchiCAD Library 11" folder. (e.g. ArchiCAD Library 11/Accessories) This way the Library update will work right, and the additional libraries will load with the standard AC 11 library.

- I could not repeat Karl's problem that any file with "lcf" in it's name fools the update. I tried both Mac and PC. ArchiCAD is supposed to check the file type, and I believe it does.

Needless to say, these issues will be fixed as soon as technically possible, but definitely before the next Library update comes out. I am truly sorry for all the inconveniences.

Thanks for all of your efforts, Greg. I can't reproduce my *lcf* problem any longer either with 1033. And, the update on XP is working properly now. I found that how you extract files from a zip determines the 'created' date of the file - whether you open and drag or use the extraction wizard, etc. I'm getting a 'created' a date of either July 4, or 'today', depending on the method, and each now works.

Cheers,
Karl
