S)_Renumber

I have a Library part called SO_Renumber, it used to work in ArchiCAD 7 but it is not working at all in ArchiCAD 8.1. Its job is to give automatically consecutive numbers on every mouse click. If you want to insert in-between a new item you would Alt-Click and update.

I am attaching the library part for info and for the the ones who don't have it.

Anyone using it in 8.1?

YOU MUST PUT MANUALLY FOR EXAMPLE 1 OR 01 VALUE IN OBJECT ID
FOR THE FIRST OBJECT AND ARCHICAD WILL PUT 02,03,..ETC
IF I GIVE AN NON NUMERIC ID ARCHICAD WILL NOT INCREASE A SIMPLE WORD

LiHigh,
The issue with the single dot sounds like, if you are working in 8.1,
you might need to open the library part via file->GDL object->open object
and save it to update it to 8.1 thus disabling it for use in previous versions. Make a copy to open and save.

The object was written in 6.5 or 7 and behaves differently in 8.1.
In 6.5 the global internal id starts with 02 and increments by steps of one
but as far as I can tell in 8.1 the global internal id starts with 497
and increments by steps of three.

This is a question for Archibaldo.
How can changing the global USER id affect the global INTERNAL id?
My copy of the library part invokes the global internal id.
I hope we are all talking about the same object, SO_Renumber.GSM.

I suggest you dont use the SO_Renumber object. It was an experiment. It is very outdated as was written for 6.0 when there was no Element ID manager.
Find and use other solutions or the Element ID manager.

Right on, I'm experimenting.........
I've done lot of GDL scripting but have never utilised the GDL DATA IN/OUT api. It's weird that I couldn't seem to make it works but other could...........

The Internal ID cannot be changed with GDL.
An API Add-On may be able to change it, but not GDL.
The User ID is freely changeable.
