Sectional Doors

I've recently been contacted by Graphisoft UK to discuss how they can improve their UAS (or SSA??) subscription service. All very positive.

During talks we discuss desired objects and I remembered an article for new enhanced sectional doors for AC18. See image attached.

Has anybody see these??? I installed INT, USA and UKI versions and none had these much desired (and needed) doors. Wondering where the selected markets are.

Closest I have is a commercial object for a brand, which of course limits you to what they can make.

As a Work around I use empty door panel and draw a schematic curtainwall for the door panel to make it look like sectional door.

One of my colleagues resently used the vertical sliding garage door and not shown any of the track. Not ideal.

Erwin- I can see why you use that work around but I find that method frustrating because you have two elements to adjust if you need to change the door.

No that is the version 17 door.
There is a 'new and improved' one in 18 but it is only available in "certain markets".
AUS (where I am) is not one of them.
It seems INT, USA and UKI are not one of the markets either.

The answer it seems is that it was for germany only.

UK graphisoft have asked HQ if it can be put into UKI/ INT markets.

Confidence in user influence over developer is increasing!!

Ich schütle den faust! (apologies for my bad german, eastern-neighbours)

And yes, it is very annoying, but the standard door can only do 4 panels high and most sectional doors are a tad bit higher than that.

Here is the library for Kling I've tried to use. http://kling.bimobject.com/lumina

Not tried this one yet: http://crawfordsolutions.bimobject.com/cra_1042_p

Erwin not quite sure what you were trying to write (google was no help either) but understand the sentiment.

I've used the crawford on some projects, they are good and pretty customisable. But definately assa abloy in appearance.

I shake my fist in my worst nether-german (I'm told by my Czech girlfriend it sounds like dutch with heavy accent).

I've bugged Hörmann about getting the industrial doors done in GDL (there are some residential door objects out there) whenever their representative comes around. Not a big fan of crawford.

The recent work around with curtain wall is actually for a vertical folding solution where the door panels stack at the top. It's an older project which we've just kept in ArchiCAD 15 to not have the bother of the ArchiCAD 17-18 building materials. I could bring it to 16 for bimcomponents, but really, this will do.
