Space Frame

In very general terms, could someone please describe how one models a three-dimensional truss -- commonly known as a space frame -- with AC 9.
Thanks.

Possibly: use space frame object in library.

Can't remember where it is in the Archicad 9 release... is in Spaceframes for version 12.

Otherwise, a tedious assembly of tilted cylinders — best made in short modules for ease of length changes.

If you prefer you could use the beam tool with a round complex profile.

Try OBJECTiVE. It has tools that make the assembly of complex 3D forms much simpler, with tools for 3D rotation, cutting, bending, and profiling. These features also work in sections/elevation, and it provides tools for working on assemblies in more than one plane. There are numerous examples in other posts.

In ArchiCAD 9, the beams cannot be sloped. Could be done (tediously) with the Cylinder object, which has an Angle to XY Plane parameter. But there are a couple of Space Frame objects in ArchiCAD Library 9 > Object Library 9 > 05 Metals 9 > Steel Structure 9 > Spaceframes 9.
