Stretchy Object with user-defined lines spaced equally

Hello!

It has been ages since I have written a GDL object, however I'm back in the archicad saddle and looking to get going again

Basically what I'm looking to create is an object that:
- has an overall outline
- is subdivided in one direction, with lines spaced according to a user-specified parameter

So say I drew a rectangle at 10m deep by 60m long, it would give me that outline and then i could space 10m deep lines every X metres along the 60m dimension. What would be the best way to start this - can anyone point me towards a resource that would explain it? I'm in Arhicad 14, for reference.

Thanks!

EDIT: Just wanted to say the purpose of this is quick + easy layouts of lots of property lines / subdivisions. if there is already an object that does this, i would love to see!

Why not use Multiply on lines? Seems to me that would be less work then changing parameter setting in an object. Unless you are looking to divide by parametric uneven steps.

Further to Erwin's idea: Unequal steps are controlled with the offset function.

currently that's what i do - multiply. but it's a pain in the butt when one wants to try out a variety of line spacings quickly to see what will fit best. if i just have a parameter in an object that will space out the lines until they're out of room within the bounds of the object, then it would save a tonne of time!

to be clearer about it, when i say a paramter i just mean a box in the object settings that says "lot width" or something - so that i can change it from 6000 to 6200 and see the effects immediately. our office does a lot of condos too, and it would be handy for quickly laying out grid lines!!
