Title Block Objects, questions regarding lines/pens/text.

Hello,

I am having some issues creating an ArchiCAD objects consisting of just lines and fills.
I am trying to save a title block as an object, so I can make different versions at different scales.

For some reason when I save my current title block and paste the object in a document, it takes away all the line-weights and line-types from the object, even though they do appear correct in the 'open object' 2D View. How does one resolve this?

Trying to edit the object under "open object" to change the lines types/pens. When I do this I only have the option of using the selection marquee (even after opening the tools toolbox). How does one use the regular cursor and not the selection cursor?

Another issue is all of the text is out of scale under the 2D view (even though it appears correct when the object is placed in a document).

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can resolve these issues?

EDIT: Adding a question regarding plotting scale:

I'm having trouble plotting to scale in a recent project.
I have a title block that is 64' x 96' wide which is exactly 24" x 36" at 3/8" = 1' (the drawing which makes the title block has a dashed line representing the exact 24"x36" in order to position the drawing off-center, to create a binding/staple edge on the left side).

I try to plot this on a 24" by 36" sheet, but the plot window won't allow me to scale it to 3/8" = 1' (1:32)
it will only allow me to select 1:33. This occurs even if I type in '32' in the custom field... it's automatically changes it back to 33.

Any idea why this would happen?

Thanks!

I think you are trying to edit in the 2D View window, rather than the 2D Symbol window. The object is probably using the 2D Script to generate the 2D View, see this thread:
2D View window in Edit Library Object - tools unavailable

The 2D View has a scale, you may need to enlarge the 2D View window to see and change the scale, it is in the bottom border, similar to the regular 2D Window in ArchiCAD.

Thanks David.

In the 2D Symbol window there wasn't anything. Do we have to copy/paste our title block into this window? How we created the object was by selecting the lines in plan, then asking to save as an object. Maybe we had to copy/paste into a new object and set the sizes first.

SimpleTwig:

1. Using the Marquee, copy the 2D View's content to the 2D Symbol window.
2. Delete or Comment (add "!" before each line of code) to the 2D Script. If there is any readable code in the 2D Script, ArchiCAD will use that code and ignore the contents of the 2D Symbol window (except if the command Fragment2 is used in the 2D Script).
3. Edit the content of the 2D Symbol as desired.

Thanks David,

We tried that and it didn't work.

What did work is the following:

Select the object (the title block in the plan file), command-T, under 'Floor Plan and Section' and then under 'Symbol' add a check mark next to 'Show Symbol Line Weights'
