I am trying to place a lamp, wall fixture, hanginf pendant, etc. in my project. The documentation shows a folder called 'light sources 9' withthe parts i need under '16 electrical 9' but in my object browser I see only 'electrical symbols 9' under that folder. I have a standard AC9 installation right off the cd with the latest update applied.
Thanks in advance for the tip!
I think this is your problem.
The object tool will not show any object saved as lights just as it does not show windows, doors, stairs, skylights, corner windows.
These are all specialized tools that will only show there own type.

And for a newbie, you'll be well advised to use a general light source and tilted windolites to actually illuminate the space - think like a photographer would - and keep the lamps turned low so they don't glare out.
