I see that this is still available on ISSUU.com, but it is not downloadable. I would like a PDF version to view on my devices for reference. Is there a place to get it this way?
Try this link that was mentioned before.

I don't understand what you are asking?
CD files for what?

Well, previous posts were about GDL Cookbook by David Nicholson-Cole. Book's description says there should be CD disk with files (.gsm, I think) to provide complete examples, because in book is shown only part of code. Otherwise its size would be huge.

Ah, the Cookbook CD.
It seems you can download the PDF but not the CD.

The codes are all there in the PDF - its just you have to put them together.
David even shows you the parameter list that you need to recreate.
It is just that for a new GDL creator, it might not be that obvious what you need to do.

I think you can download GDL Cookbook 3.0 here from Nottingham. And Version 4.0 from Mediafire. Version 4.0 is at least a decade old and 3.0 came out about 20 years ago but both are still very useful. It’s quite pragmatic in covering most of what a casual user might want to learn for practical applications. From simple to relatively complex. Just bear in mind that some commands have been removed so you’ll might want to review what they are from the GS website and note it in the book.

The Graphisoft GDL handbook is much more technical, covering all the commands and variables, etc. But many parts are pretty difficult to parse for architect users.

It’s actually not too difficult to pick up a useful amount of GDL. Even if you model something with Morph and use GDL to manage how it looks in 2D or 3D.
