fill in objects question

for the toilet and vanity objects, the fill is set to "air space". yet when i draw a hatch, the white fill shows up. is there a way to set the objects so that when i draw a hatch, i only see the lines and no white fill?

tried messing with set model view but not luck.

you will need to set fill background pen to transparent
