inclined hedge element

Hi guys
my maiden post.Great site here!
not a GDL guru but i have always wanted an inclined hedge for use in, say, sides of exterior steps or a slopped site.I got it by taking the linear one in the library and using ROTX.
Now the trouble is i cannot obviously do this every time i need to change the angle. There must be a way of putting this in the parameters so i can change it in the AC dialog box.somebody help!
Kind regards.

Add a parameter in the main window of the library part editor and make it an angle type parameter. In the 3D code you will call it something like:

roty hedge_angle

Where "hedge_angle" (or whatever) is the parameter name you chose.

Take a look in the manual. It's not great but it does cover these basics AFAIR. Or buy David Nicholson-Cole's GDL cookbook, it's well worth the slight investment.

There is a very different approach than ROT if the hedge is on a very steep slope. With ROT, the ends of the hedge and any internal branches will be at an angle, but in reality they would grow straight up. (For a slight slope, nobody will notice the difference and ROT is easy and adequate.)

I'll post more when I have time if there is interest.
