One of my students write to me (DNC):

I replied that this often happens to me. In fact very often. Its very VERY frustrating. EG, recently i wrote a Cutter object that cuts through the entire building, but you need to save the entire building as an object and call it.
the only problem is that the cutter doesnt cut binarys, and if you try to save it as editable, this problem occurs. So the cutter is a hit or miss thing - you are dependent on the bugs in the Beam and column library objects.
I can remember this problem going back a long way.
Similar things have happened to me in 6.0, 6.5. Not sure about 7. But this is a consistent problem in 8.
Saving in Binary usually works for objects. but then you cant cut them or edit the script.
