License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. railing tool

I'm looking for a railing tool that will make a railing for decks and stairs that looks like the one in these pictures. ArchiCAD has several railing ools but none that I've found can give me this particular railing for decks and stairs.
I'm open to third party tools too.
Mahalo,
John

In the INT version has a fence "Rail Post with Balusters".
In "Structural Dimensions" is a parameter "Horizontal Rail Stile". Change the value of "No" to "rectangular".

Aloha Valery,
Thank you for the heads up about the "Rail Post with Balusters" object. Unfortunately, in my version of ArchiCAD, United States v11, that railing object does not have the "Horizontal Rail Stile" or any way to add the two intermediate rails as showing in my sketch and photo.

This close but it doesn't quite do what I need it to do. I just spent hours creating the stairs and railings using the Slab, Column and Roof tools.

Thank you for your suggestion. I'm still looking for a tool or add in that will create the railing as shown above. It would be great if there was also a tool that created exterior decks as shown in the photo.

Thank you,
John

There is Master Script's Adaptable Railing Tool in the depository. That might work.

In the 11 version has no such settings? It's a pity.

You can use the object "Battens for Roof Tiles".

That is just what I want for my railing.

I like your idea for the decking and skirting under the house. I'll try those.
Right now I'm using the slab tool to create the deck boards and the "Fence Horizontal 11" to create the skirting under the house. I'll try your sugestion and see which ones work best for me.
Thank you,
John

Aloha zeropointreference,
Thank you for the suggestion. I'm not sure what or where the Master Script Adaptable Railing Tool is.. Can you tell me what it is and where I can find it. Does it work with ArchiCAD 11?
Thank you,
John

Hoped that worked.

Personally, I model that kind of stuff out of slabs, beams, columns, etc. and hand build it. I find it less frustrating. And what you have pictured there is comprised of simple shapes so it would be very easy with a couple elevations and sections, and some 2D and 3D work.

I loaded the "Master Script Railing.lcf" using the Library Manager but I cannot find it in my objects. Does this work with ArchiCAD 11 running on windows?

Thank you,
John
