scale, stretch in one dimension only

How can i scale or stretch a drawing(a group of lines and circles-not windows or doors ect) in one axis only? is that even possible in archicad?

No.
But you can make an object of it and then scale them. Select the items, and choose File / Libraries and Objects / Save Selection as. Save the object and place it. The object has a length and width, you can divide the value and then you have scaled it. Then Explode you object.
