Working in plan i can see the roof ok - i put a hole in it and it vanishes. I can still see it when i go back to plan (pitched roof) but it won't show in 3D

ANY THOUGHTS ANY BODY ?

Thanks Myles.

If the hole you placed is near a roof edge that is not vertical, it may have degenerated. Make all the edges (including the hole edges) vertical and see if that fixes it.

Are you by any chance selecting the roof before viewing in 3D?
Or are you showing all in 3D?

Just a hunch but if you are selecting are you selecting just the hole and not the roof?
Not in front of Archicad at the moment to test myself.

Nope.
Selecting just the hole will still show the rest of the roof in 3D.
Must be a geometry problem as Stephen suggested.

do you have 2 roofs in the same spot?
If you move the roof away and then view it in 3D can you see it?
How about some screen shots?

My guess is on stephens contribution. On the floorplan select any of the edges.
-Select the roof.
-Click on any edge
-select in the pet palet the edge settings.
-choose Apply on All Edges
-select Perpendicular

if this does not work, then check all the points in your polygon. Maybe there are some double points or so. In any case redraw your polygon with standard settings.
