Another BUG: Zones

Aussie John
Newcomer
See attached file.
Click in area 1 and zone gets added to area 3 as well.
Click area 4 ( which is same as area 1) and am told zone is outside clicked area. if select ok the zone is added to area 2 & 3

splitting the area with a "zone boundary" line stops the oddity but of course means I need two zones instead of the one

this may be related to the previous zone bug posted

Clicking in area 1 and getting 3 as well is quite smart and logical if not sensible!
Area 4, The msg I get is "You may have clicked into an existing zone' which is correct
None of this worries me much.
I'm far more concerned that door and windows at different levels in a multistory wall ONLY read the zone at the base of the wall.
This is a killer

David, How can adding a zone to an area I dont want be logical?
the centre area is obviously not part of the area 1/4.
As for clicking in area 4 and getting the dreaded message - I dont think thatshould be passed off as inconsequential since most time when I am having this issue it doesnt matter where i click the zone cant be set.

At the moment Zones are flakey. There have been instances when I click in an area and nothing happens.

I should say I have been using a lot of linked (in plan) modules and maybe that is causing some additional issues.

The module I pasted was mocked up to show some problems I have been having with zones, in particular a corridor which in plan makes a moat around an island of core services. The zone cant be added unless it is split into two distinct areas. It just doesnt work.

I believe if you set the door to be relative to the storey this is not a problem.

Hi David - I know you can handle it!! - I took your comment "if not sensible" in a double negative sense ie as in "indeed sensible"
I hope you will be reporting the bug none the less
cheers
