I just ran the update in the help menu and updated Archicad 9 now it will not start up. It gives me an error message:

Application Launch Failure
The application "ArchiCAD" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "T<ArchiCAD><ArchiCAD><ElementManagerLib><IsInMarki__Q23EDB11GeneralElemCFPC7SelTypes>"
The error code probably gives it away but you should say what your system is. Most people add it to the bottom of your signature ( go to profile)

Have you read the previous posts indicating where problems might lie. If you are using a Mac and have multiple copies of the application in your folder could cause a problem or changing the filepath of the original installation.

You might need to reinstall and redo the process.

I am fairly sure R.Fry bumped against the authorization problem.

Check if there is Log.txt file in the ArchiCAD folder (where the .exe is) and it contains a line similar to the below line:

"ServiceException: (error code = -30008; message = "The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed."

This is the tell-tale sign that the the java installer is failing due to an authorization problem (not connected to network/network domain changed since original install). Follow the instructions that I gave earlier for laptop not connected.

Thanks for the help.

I do have older versions of Archicad installed - don't know if that gave me the problem. Uninstalled and reinstalled Arch9 then ran the update and everything came out fine though i forgot to save my preferences/shortcuts. Thought i'd chosen to save preferences in the uninstall dialog but it seems they were deleted.
