Archicad 19 Building materials Priorities not working

Anonymous
Not applicable
Trying to get wall and slabs to play nice together and they won't. I have adjusted the priorities in the building materials dialogue box, but they won't clean up automatically. Is there a setting somewhere I have overlooked? I checked the legacy setting and it is not checked so i don't think it is that. I updated to the latest build the other day and started this project after that. It was working before. Could this be a bug in the update? Any help appreciated. I searched the forums, but not luck there either.
Thanks

Are your wall and slab in different layers?
If so then those layers need the same Intersection Priority number otherwise they will not trim each other.

If they are in the same layer then make sure this IP number is not zero (zero means they will not interact even if in the same layer).

Ok.. Thanks for the reply. They are not on the same layer, and the layer Priority number is the same, but they were still not trimming each other. So I put them on the same layer, and it worked. One is a slab, and one a wall. I put the slab back on the floor layer, and it stayed trimmed. Go figure. Guess a glitch of some sort. Seems to be working ok now tho. Will see if it continues to work or not. Thanks for the info.

Make sure you are using actual layer combinations - never 'Custom'.
Each layer combination can have different settings for the IP numbers so it can trim in one combination but not in another.
Each of your views in the View Map should be sett to use a layer combination - again never 'Custom'.

Maybe you have found a glitch or maybe you were changing layer combinations (views) with different IP numbers.
One thing I did notice it that I had to 'Rebuild & Regenerate' (CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+R) after I changed the layer IP otherwise nothing changed on screen.

Barry,
I always use named layer combos in plan and in view map. I tried the reloading technique too, and that didn't change it. Guess it was just a glitch of some sort, but seems to be working fine now. Thanks for your input too.
