Archicad 29 regression - Complex Profile fill orientation bug has returned

Hello,

I am reporting a regression in Archicad 29 concerning the fill orientation of Building Materials used in Complex Profiles.

The Building Material is correctly set to:

Fill Orientation: Element Origin

Inside the Profile Manager, the fill orientation is displayed correctly. However, after applying the Complex Profile to the element, Archicad 29 changes the orientation of the fill depending on the direction or proportions of the element.

As a result:

  • horizontal parts display vertical fill lines;
  • vertical parts display horizontal fill lines;
  • the placed element does not preserve the orientation shown in the Profile Manager.

This is not a configuration issue. The same Building Material, fill and Complex Profile work correctly in Archicad 28.

This exact problem already existed previously and was corrected in Archicad 28. It has now returned in Archicad 29.

This is therefore a clear regression.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a directional cut fill.
  2. Assign it to a Building Material.
  3. Set the Building Material to Fill Orientation: Element Origin.
  4. Use this Building Material in a Complex Profile containing horizontal and vertical parts.
  5. Confirm that the orientation is correct inside the Profile Manager.
  6. Apply the profile to an element.
  7. The fill orientation is recalculated or rotated incorrectly.

Expected result

The fill orientation in the placed element must remain exactly as defined and displayed in the Profile Manager, as it does in Archicad 28.

Actual result

Archicad 29 changes the fill orientation after the profile is applied to the element.

Since this issue was already fixed in Archicad 28, it should not have been reintroduced in Archicad 29.

Please register this as a regression and correct it in an Archicad 29 update.

I am attaching screenshots showing:

  1. the correct orientation inside the Profile Manager;
  2. the incorrect orientation in the placed element;
  3. the Building Material set to Element Origin.

Which Hotfix/Update/Build of Archicad 29 is this happening with?

Also, which localized version? INT or some other?

In your 28 image the fill is set to 'Project Origin.

In the 29 image it is set to 'Element Origin'.

That will give you different results.

Hello Barry
No they are not.
They are in Element Origin. I don't use Project Origin ever.
What happen with the image above is that was two fill(build Material) selected, but has can you see on this screenshoot is only one fill and with Element Origin option, and works perfectly on AC 28.

Best regards
