Archicad default template seems to get stuck

Hi all! Im trying to get some help concerning ArchiCAD 19.

When I try to open the default template, when i click New, all I get is a GREY SCREEN within ArchiCAD and most of the options are greyed out as well... I went even further, reinstalled ArchiCAD, but that surely didnt solve the problem... Any help is greatly appreciated!

I have attached two pictures for a better explanation concerning this issue.

Now is even getting more and more messed up, since ArchiCAD 20 picked up the same behaviour as ArchiCAD 19, which makes me believe, the real solution is to download a new template from somewhere...? Please help!
