Beginners tips please

Hi
I'm very new on Archicad and have been playing around but could do with a bit of help! These may seem very naive questions to all those experienced users but untill I get this sorted, I'm kinda stuck!
For example I can't figure out how to define the LENGTH of walls (apart from dragging across the squares) isn't there a box I can fill in to be precise? Also, when placing a door/window... How do I place it at a given distance from a corner/wall?

You need to type in the length as you draw, in either the Tracker or the coordinate box (unless you are snapping to known points / guidelines).

If you download and do the tutorials, you will find the answer to this and most other complete beginner questions. Do not hope to learn how to do things by just playing around - not going to happen.
