Bug? - Reinstall?

Hi guys no idea what i have done but i seem unable to add new windows or doors to my drawing.

I can add new walls but not windows or doors.

I can edit existing windows but cannot place any new ones.

Also unable to select and edit some text (some I can select and edit freely others I have to selct and right click to edit and others I cannot selct at all)

Do I have a bug - need to reinstall?

No, probably just turn your grid snap off.
I bet there is a little black dot that is following your cursor around.
That means the grid snal is on and you can only select and place objects at that black dot.
"s" is usually the keyboard shortcut to turn this on/off.
