Can't view model in 3D

I know what you're thinking, this has been answered before...(can't view model in 3D because camera is not facing model, place a new camera, problem solved) ...but this is a little different.

I CAN see my model in Perspective mode 3D, but not in Axonometric.

I have tried viewing the entire model, viewing selected walls, I have tried thin marquees, fat marquees, fat marquees with objects selected, in OpenGL Options setting "always display all elements within the following radius:" everything from 0 to Large (although this should only effect perspective anyway, as axonometric has no viewing distance), Select All in 3D window (nothing), wireframe mode, shaded mode, Internal engine and OpenGL. I have tried preset axo modes, (Top, Side, Iso, frontal axo etc) and orbit. Zoom extents = Nothing.

Has anyone else come across this? Any tricks or settings I may have missed?

One point to consider is this model was originally built in AC9 (maybe even 8.1) but we have others similar in the office that do not do this.

Stumped.

Happy birthday to me.

No, I don't blame you!

Have you tried a forward merge?

Cheers,
Link.
Gave it a crack, but no, that didn't work.

Change your scale X,Y,Z Projection scale from 0,0,0 to 1,1,1!

Or for mm it may be 1000, 1000, 1000.

Hold the phone - Changed the camera azimuth to 45 in 3D proj. settings, and the model icon appeared, changed back to 0 and its still there!!!

Oh happy days.

Thanks, Link for your time and patience.

Didn't think changing the camera azimuth would matter, so it's still kinda weird, but glad you can see your model now!

Good stuff.

Thanks for pointing that out, Peter. I had missed that conversation (must have been in my Forum "quiet period".)

Pretty much describes what was happening, but all good now.

Thanks again.

Hello Stuart,
When Link noticed those settings set to zero it reminded me of
the thread I referred to. When something really weird happens
to the 3D view I try to remember to switch back and forth between
the various projection settings untill the default settings get reset.
If I had noticed what Link did I would have suggested this trick.
Thanks,

Hi Peter

The weird thing is I did try some of those pre-set views, to no avail. It was only after I changed the camera azimuth (which was 0, changed to 30, then it went back to 0 again) manually that I got a result, and was then able to successfully select the preset views and get them to work.

Strangeness abounds.

But happy now.
