Can you mirror a line type?

Hi,
I'm attempting to do something which seems incredibly simple but can't seem to get any results.

I'm using a shingle line type, which works fine on one side of the roof, but when I mirror it, the line type symbol stays the same and does not mirror, so the line appears incorrect. I've tried all sorts of different methods for doing this, but is the only way to do it is to create another line type which matches but is going the other direction? Surely there is another way, right?

Any help will be appreciated!

You'll have to create a separate line for each side and probably each angle. Obviously not part of GS's coordinate and control objective.

what happens when you draw the line in the reverse direction?

i've got a 'grass' line for sections/elevations - i can't mirror either - i have to draw the line in one direction only . . .

This is what I do -- works like a charm.

I get this almost every time I draw a Revision "cloud" using a closed spline.

I feel your pain, brother! I've had to start using the open spline and make it close myself. It would be nice to reverse a line direction the way you can with a wall!

hmmm.....
Well, the direction in which I draw the line allows me to flip the type about the specific axis the line is being drawn in, but does not allow for mirroring, if that made any sense at all.

Yeah, it would be great if there were some kind of a flip/mirror function for custom line types. All in all, I find AC's custom lines to be very hard to manage. Usually I wind up making a symbol, then repeating using the multiply tool.

I wish they'd work on some of this little stuff before breaking out with an all new release 11. Where's my copy of Archicad X, in which they fix all those annoying little quirks that fill the pages of this forum, THEN move on to some flashy new wheels?

If I draw using the closed spline in a clockwise direction the cloud is always pointing in the outwards direction. If in a counterclockwise direction it will invert. Does this not work for you?

I stand corrected. Of course the linetype is set by the direction it is drawn. Then I guess it comes down to the geometry of the linetype to how well it mirrors.

Apologies for leading you astray. Bit too much on my plate!
