Chinese character imput (text)

Not applicable
Hi,

We have a project in China, and (of course) we have to write in Simplified Chinese... In AC7, OS 10.2, everything is "out of the box" simple, but for some reason, AC8 v3 doesn't like asian characters, whenever I select the language from the OS bar on top, it reverts back to US English or Canadian French (which I have set-up also) as soon as I click back in AC.

Ideas anyone?

Luc,

Please try this: first start the text input (click to the plan), then change to chinese input language. After clicking chinese in the menubar, don't touch the mouse anymore. It seems that moving the mouse will reset the input language and wash away the input window.
Alternatively, select input language before starting ArchiCAD.

Hope it helps,

Greg

Hi,

Another workaround: Turning off coordinate box will also fix it.

Cheers,

Thanks Greg! That did it!

It's weird, but that mouse is very sensitive, and as soon as you touch it, it reverts back to US English...
