Column shapes

how is it possible to incorporate different column shapes in floor plans?

You could create them with the Wall or Slab tools, or create them with the Profile Manager and assign the profile to the Column tool.

For more information with images, go to Help > ArchiCAD Help, when your browser opens click on the "Search" tab, and input TOPIC in the search box, the results list will lead to detailed information about each tool.

You should add a Signature to your Profile (click the Profile button near the top of this page) with your ArchiCAD version and operating system (see mine for an example) for more accurate help in this forum.

Or, if you do as David said, but type in (columns) in the Search field there is a listing specifically called; 17-Column Display on Floor Plans.
At least here anyway.
