Connected objects losign their connectivity when hotlinking

Hi,

I have modelled up an old 4 storey house with a mansard roof. The roof is quite complex with a number of walls 'connected' (trimmed) to it and a further two roof elements performing solid element operations (SOE's) (subtractions extruded down) on it.

I am then having to hotlink this building into another file, storey by story, and when I do that the 'connections' and SEO's stop working.

Has anyone come across this before?

I'm using ArchiCAD 16.

Thanks

Evan

SEOs are not preserved between parts in separate modules.

Solutions are:

1. Use the old Trim to Roof command which inserts the cutting plane(s) into the affected parts. The drawback is that any changes require undoing and redoing the operations as the relationships are not retained.

2. Figure out a way to keep the operators and targets in the same modules. This depends on the details of the design.

3. Redo the SEOs in the master file that the modules are linked into. This may be trivial or tedious depending on the circumstances.

Matthew,

Thanks for those suggestions. Iäll give them a try and report back
