Hi!

How is it possible to choose to have the control box visible at all times?

These boxes are controlled through establishing a work environment that includes them.
You may have defined a work environment for yourself that does not include the control box and every time you start archicad, it reverts, turning off the control box.

Open it from 'palettes' and move it to link in with your toolbar at the top of the screen and it should stay there from then on.

If it is being removed everytime you start up Archicad you may have another user setting on your machine for toolbox layouts that is overriding your new pallette layout.

So you should to go into 'Working Environment' from 'Options' and select 'Palette Schemes' and save the new palette scheme as your name. You can do this for all the settings such as keyboard shortcuts etc. This means that all your settings are saved so if anyone messes them up you can get them back exactly the way you want them. Finally go to the top of the list and create a new 'User Profile' and make sure you select all your named settings from the list for all the sub categories and then ensure you apply the profile.

Everytime you change your pallette scheme, shortcuts, data saving settings etc etc you need to go back into Working Environment and resave the settings so that your profile is kept up to date.

You can even export your final saved profile to a separate location as a backup in case you ever need to reinstall Archicad.
