Copying and pasting?

Hello i'm a student learning how to use archicad and my professor hasn't really been helpful. We're doing some basic 3d modeling for a project. Were suppose to build something copy it and paste it. Work on that and copy and paste it to show our progress. Parts of it aren't copying over and its frustrating. The slabs aren't copying over. What am i doing wrong?

1. select all in 3D drag a copy.

2. draw a box with marquee tool (thick line).
2.1 withe marquee tool selected, right click on marquee area > move > drag a copy.
