Creating a stepped wall to follow a stair

I am sure I fell asleep during this class (as I often do).

Is there an easier way to create a stepped wall that follows a stairway than individually create a series of 12" long walls with each one increasing in height incrementally?

Thanks in advance.

assuming you're drawing the treads as slabs, use SEO to subtract with upwards extrusion to cut a wall to the bottom of treads? doesn't work perfectly if your treads overlap a little bit as is typical though.

have you tried stairmaker? there are probably others here with more knowledge of stairmaker than me...

So archistair is very useful - what if i'm a student who doesn't want to spend 1800 south african rand on it. I'm new on archicad but still not sure how to build a stepped wall around a staircase without having to build each wall segment separately. am i missing something?

You can model the stepped top of the Wall as a Profile.
Assign it to a Wall and SEO the top of your Wall with this Profiled Complex Wall.
