Cursor Snap Variant

trying to figure out why the "cursor snap variant" toolbar is greyed out and not available?

Operating system used: Mac Intel-based Sonoma 14.4.1

Archicad 27 5030 USA Full Apple
M3 Max 36GB MacBook Pro
Sequoia 15.1.1

This is not really needed now with the blue snap guides.

But if you start to stretch a wall and press and hold SHIFT to constrain it, you can the press Q to toggle the snap variant.
