Numbering Model parts for Building Instructions / Manuals or 4D Visualization

I`m wondering what would be the best practice to realize something like Eneroth building instructions in Archicad where you can visualize building steps of components for designing instruction manuals without hundreds of model view options or layers cluttering the file.
