Curtain Wall above a Door?

Anonymous
Not applicable
I need to insert a door into a curtain wall system.

I am not sure the best way to do this is. The way I have step it up is:

1. add a base wall
2. inserted the door object
3. inserted the Full Height Curtain wall elements next to the door.
4. Lastly insert a curtain wall element above the door.

Is this the best way?

I am not able to create a curtain wall element like the one need above the door. (please see the attached image, click to enlarge to see the redlines of what I need to create.) I need 2 rows but only 1 column. the CW tool keeps wanting to add 2 vertical divisions. I have been playing with the input values for hours. thanks for any help & advice in advance.

why not just use the 'curtain wall door' object?

if you turn off the left or right mullion you can join it with adjacent curtain walling window objects . . .

(additionally - if you can get away with it - the door curtain walling objects allow one column of 'sidelights' at each side too)
