Custom Symbol Fills

I tried making a custom symbol fill as instructed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCsR3c2Em5E

It worked once, but never again (even on new files). Now only the hotspots are showing up on this new file. Any idea what's going on??

Did you use lines and arcs, or a spline?

Polylines. I did exactly as the Youtube video shows

I haven't watched the video, but try exploding your polyline (so it reduces to lines and arcs) and copy paste those in.

That should work. And it won't make any difference to the final fill.

Tried it... Did not work. Only show the hot Spots. Not sure if there is something that I need to turn on/off or something...?

Just watched the video. What is that he's doing at 2:14?

I am sure if you try it with only the lines and arcs (no need for hotspots even), it will work.

w/o hot spots gives me a black preview. I have tried dozens of variations in my office and home office and in different files and AC 16 and 17... only hot spots show or it turns black. Really frustrating.
