Custom fill

Trying to distinct vision glass in my drawings.

What fill do you use in your practice.

I use this symbol but I have to do it manually which is very frustrating. Any help, advice would be appreciated.

Hi,

what do you mean by manually? You can define it as a custom fill and recall it wherever needed.

Usually I use light shading to differentiate glass, but I’m pretty sure that’s not the proper representation convention.

Hi @zgeorgievg

Creating a custom symbol fill might seem like the most obvious solution, but it may not be so straightforward because you can't control its origin on an elevation view; that's why I recommend creating a new 2D symbolic object so you can place it wherever you want.

I'm sure there could be a more elegant way to do this, but this quick and easy method gets the job done:

  1. Draw the symbol.
  2. Select all of it.
  3. File> Libraries and Objects> Save Selection as...> Object...
  4. Name and save.
  5. Place it wherever you need.
