thank you all very much!!! but can anyone tell me in simple steps how profile manager works???? sorry its the first time i need it
Using PROFILER, it really is pretty easy...
1. Draw the section using a FILL on the floor plan. Usually best to put a node on 0,0

2. Draw a LINE that represents the Axis of Rotation

3. Choose both the fill and the line and go to the PROFILER (add-on that needs to be loaded prior)

4. At the top of this dialog you will see two buttons, the first shows Extrude Along a Path and the other is Rotate about an Axis. Choose the 2nd.

5. Set the other parameters dealing with the plan representation and the 3d representation. Don't forget to set the LAYER as it is possible to create the part onto a HIDDEN layer.

6. Click OK and it will show a dialog where you save this OBJECT. Choose either your OFFICE LIBRARY (if it's something you'll use again) or your PROJECT LIBRARY if it is specific to this project.

7. It is now waiting for you to PLACE it on the plan....

Don't get confused, Profile Manager is NOT the largely obsolete Profiler!!

Profile Manager, a sub-dialog of the Complex Profile Command, is a modern way to create fancy, editable extrusions without the fuss of library object creation. Use this when you need trims and single objects where editability is primary.

With the Profile Manager Dialog open, select "New."

Draw your new profile in this window. Note that the origin of the window will correspond to the main wall line when drawn.

Each face of the new profile can convey a different material and the profile can then be named and saved, It is used by the wall, column and beam tools to extrude shapes.

Examples:

The custom profile lets you use the wall tool and magic wand to place ceiling mouldings all around rooms that automatically miter themselves.

Or draw a circular wall that forms your dome. Yet another advantage of this method of shape building is that now your dome can easily have windows.

Very true Dwight... I had not had the opportunity to try it using Complex Profiles... Seems to work great... the only caveat is that you can not draw a COMPLETE dome, it will need to be in two parts (which is no big deal).

I am a huge proponent of Complex Profiles and am finding new uses for them all the time. Just did some Counter Tops, PANTRY SHELVING and Closet Shelf and Pole with complex profiles.
