Do you ever get confused when designing stairs in Archicad?

We know it's a super parametric tool, so...

Let's break down the five key settings to help you design better!

Baseline

  • What is it? The baseline determines the reference line for your stairs.
  • How to set it:
    • Align the baseline with your design reference, such as a wall or boundary.
    • Example: If your stairs turn left, set the baseline on the left for smoother alignment.
    • Choose external or internal baselines depending on the layout.

Landing Options

  • Purpose: Adjust the landing’s configuration quickly.
  • How to use it:
    • Add or remove the short distance between the riser and the landing without manual tweaking.
    • Simplifies stair flow and saves time during adjustments.

Fixed Riser Offset

  • Why it matters: Ensures precise placement of risers for cleaner transitions.
  • Pro Tip:
    • Set the "Fixed Riser Offset" to zero for perfect alignment.
