Different Plan Views

Hi,

I'm currently working a residential project that is split into three pavilions oriented in 3 different directions. Basically I would like to be able to isolate each of the pavilions in plan and rotate them so that they are straight (not on the angle) for ease of documentation as trying to dimension all three on the one page will get very hectic. Is there a way that I can rotate each of the pavilions then save the plan view as a view setting and still be able to revert back to the original orientation? I have tried dropping a detail marker over each pavilion and manually updating the information but i loose all my 3d information and my door and windows turn to lines. Hopefully all that makes sense.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Tommy

You don't say what version of Archicad you are using.
Pleas add your specs to your profile signature.

In 14 there is a rotated orientation - page 278 of the user guide.

Personally I would model each pavillion (square) in its own PLN file and then hotlink those into a fourth master PLN at the correct rotation.

I'm using archicad 13.

This hotlink method looks like the way to go. I will look into it.

Thank you very much for your help.

On second thoughts this orientated view might work. Is there a way to select portions of the plan and hit hide somehow? I can gear up new layer combinations and layers but that would be very time consuming.

Orient the entire plan and save that as a view.
When you place the view on the layout you can crop off what you don't wnat to see.
Then orient for another pavillion and save that as a view.
Place on layout and crop.
Repeat for the third pavillion.

Ok, but is there anyway to select individual elements within a plan and hit hide rather than having to hide a whole layer or cropping a view?

No.
You will need to use layers to turn on/off what you need.
