I am just starting to use AC20, can anybody tell me if its possible to display say the ground floor in light grey dashed lines onto the floor above using the graphic overrides?

I would think no. You could do this in the Layout sheet by overlaying the two Views
AC versions 3.41 to 25 (UKI Full 5005).
Using AC25 5005 UKI FULL
