License Delivery maintenance is expected to occur on Saturday, November 30, between 8 AM and 11 AM CET. This may cause a short 3-hours outage in which license-related tasks: license key upload, download, update, SSA validation, access to the license pool and Graphisoft ID authentication may not function properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

HELP Menu activates Ineternet Explorer POP-UP BLOCKER

Each time I select ArchiCAD's HELP command it tries to open a window using Internet Explorer. The window is stopped from opening by IE's POP-UP Blocker.
I tried adding the HELP screens address (C:\Program Files\Graphisoft\ArchiCAD 9\Help\ArchiCAD\Files\index.html) to the sites that IE's POP-UP Blocker would allow but IE does not let me add a site that does not start with HTTP.
I do want to leave IE's POP-UP Blocker on so that it blocks other site's POP-UPs.
How is IE supposed to be confiquered so that ArchiCAD's HELP menu opens easily in IE without being stopped by IE's POP-UP Blocker?
THank you,
John

Same here. Firefox is default browser, but for some reason ArchiCAD Help always opens in Internet Explorer.
That's odd, mine goes right into firefox, it even opens a new tab in firefox if its already open.

Mine does as well. I think I had to set it up to do it though. I can't quite remember, but it may have been like this:

1) Start -> Set Program Access and Defaults
2) Under the 'Custom' button, make sure 'Use my current web browser' is selected
3) Beside 'Internet Explorer' Uncheck the 'Enable access to this program' box.

Again, not 100% sure, but it can't hurt to try it...

The problem is Internet Explorer. Compared to Firefox it's like using AutoCAD instead of ArchiCAD.

I managed to do it.
I disabled access to Internet Explorer as suggested by you.
This did not solve it.
Then I chose Firefox to be the default application to open HTM files, and now it works.

The problem persists.

Now I have Internet Explorer's and Google's Pop-up Blockers turned off. I have also set Internet Explorer's Security Controls set to allow ActiveX commands, prompts, etc. The problem persists.

If I try to open the Help menu from ArchiCAD it opens Internet Explorer. Before the Help menu can open Internet Explorer brings up a warning in the Information Bar that reads:
"To protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for options..."
The options are:
"Allow blocked content..."
"What's the risk?"
"Information Bar Help"

I can always open the Help menu by clicking the Information Bar and choosing:
"Allow Blocked Content" from the Information Bar.

But this is an extra step that I don't want to do each time I ask for help from ArchiCAD.

There are other users who have this problem. Most of the users that I mention this to have the problem but, they just click the Information Bar each time they open ArchiCAD's Help menu.

I would like to open ArchiCAD's Help menu without pausing to click the information bar. How can I open ArchiCAD's Help menu without pausing to click the information bar?

Thank you,
John Cassel

Hi John
I somehow managed to get IE to be nice to the ArchiCAD help(and the Cadimage Tools help incidently), but i don't remember how.
I think it had something to do with the setting in the screenshot, so maybe give that a try. Its from the 'Tools' menue, under 'Internet Options', and on the 'Advanced' tab.

henrypootel,
Bam!!! That worked, Thank you!
Thank you for passing this on. I almost called Cadimage to see if they had a solution to this problem.
I'll pass the solution on to those I spoken to.
Aloha,
John
