HELP PLEASE ! w/ "save view and place on layout"

Anonymous
Not applicable
I am working with ArchiCad 10 with an imac (PPC).

I have a 3d view, and I select "Save view and place on layout", and the layout comes up, and I place the drawing.

However, once the view has been placed, the "box area/view" is shown, but there is no image shown in the view.

What causes this?

Thank you for your help.

How is your 3D window set up?

What do the placed drawing settings look like?

Thank you for offering to help. Please find attached several pictures of my desktop. I am new to ArchiCad, so please be simple in your terminology.

Thank you

Try to open the drawing frame more, it is possible that you are not 'focusing' on the actual drawing but are out to one side. Also check that you have all layers ON or at least the same layer combination On that matches your original drawing setting.

Thank you Jacek, I had already tried both of those....no luck.

If this procedure is working in other project file I have, can I somehow (easily) transfer/use ALL the same parameters from that "working" file to this other "problem" project file ?

Thank you again,

Hmm. The only other thing that I can think of is your 'Model View Option' setting.
Is it set to 'Custom' or is it same as when you are saving the drawing to the layout? Find it under the;
Document>Set Model View>Model View Options
- Beyond that, I'm as stumped as you are...

Try changing your Drawing's magnification to 100% and set the frame to 'Fit Frame to drawing' and see if anything turns up.

Cheers,
Link.

Thank you link for this suggestion.

I did both as suggested. Interestingly, once the "fit frame to drawing" was entered, the frame is 11 FEET x 15 FEET +/-, for an 8.5"x11" sheet !...but still no drawing in the frame.

Thank you anyway

Maybe you are zoomed way out of yor drawing?
Select the placed drawing in the layout while holding Control/Click and go to 'Open Source View' - how does the source look?
Another thing to do is to change the Drawing to Black and White in the Drawing settings, see if you can see anything in the frame...

Jacek,

Thank you again.

The source view looks just like I need it to.

And I have the 3d window set at "hidden line" already, so it's in B&W already.

?????
