If I understand correctly, Roberto refers to Objective, an Add-On by Encina, which can perform such things. You can search for it here in the forum, you will find many posts that mention it.
The Beam Tool by default cannot do this.
You may cut it with a Roof or perform Solid Element Operations on it to get the shape you want.

You can simply define a custom profile that corresponds to the lateral view of your desired beam. Then use this profile with a profiled wall or beam to get the final result.

OR:

Depending on the beam type, the object "Inclined Beam 12" might help you (you can find it in your AC Library, via Building Structures 12 > Steel Structures 12 > Steel Frames 12).

Yes, it was a moment of joke. The Encina Objective add-on seems to solve a large amount of the questions posted on ArchiCAd-Talk. Extremely versatile.
